Our MASH Certified (Massachusetts Authority of Sober Living) Recovery residences offer support, fellowship, and structure mash certified sober homes for men and women. Evidence that mechanisms exist for residents to inform and help guide operations and advocate for community-building. Rise Above Sober Living Massachusetts
These standards were developed using a collaborative approach with input from regional and national recovery housing organizations. MASH is an affiliate of NARR and used these standards to create Massachusetts standards for certified sober homes. Sober living home information is provided by sober house operators. We try to provide current information but cannot monitor every recovery home listing and do not guarantee the accuracy of listings. Research the home before you make a decision.

A weekly schedule details recovery support services, events and activities. Job descriptions require staff to facilitate access to local community-based resources. Peer support interactions among residents are facilitated to expand responsibilities for personal and community recovery. Grievance policy and procedures, including the right to take grievances that are not resolved by the house leadership to the operation’s oversight organization for mediation.
Staff and/or resident leaders educate residents about local community-based resources. Evidence that residents increase recovery capital through such things as recovery support and community service, work/employment, etc. Be accepted and approved by a sober living partner on our approved list. Phase 2 is a monitored Recovery Residence, a live-in House Manager ensures the house’s safety and security, runs weekly house meetings, collects rent and monitors residents progress. Residents are required to continue their prescribed course of treatment including; 12-step participation, attend outpatient groups, and participate in lab urinalysis twice a week or upon request. At Rise Again it is our mission to assist women and families during their journey of recovery. With the support of our donors, we can provide access to quality treatment, for both physical and emotional health and encourage family involvement in treatment.
This is where the true foundation begins to be built and maintained. A minimum stay of three months is recommended, but many benefit from a longer stay to achieve long term recovery. Additionally, MASH offers funding through its various grant programs to support sober housing initiatives. For example, the organization has facilitated significant investments in the expansion of permanent supportive housing across Massachusetts.
